Technical area
The present invention relates to an interior lighting device for a motor vehicle capable of modifying the interior ambience of the passenger compartment by isolating the occupants of the vehicle from the external environment and a method of lighting at least part of the cockpit.
State of the art
Currently, interior lighting devices integrated into the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle have limited functionality. In general, interior lighting is limited to ceiling lights that can act as reading lights and whose activation can be automatic or manual, as well as other light sources that can be activated to create mood lighting of low intensity. . This ambient lighting allows, for example, to highlight details inside the vehicle.
The development of communicating vehicles with autonomous or semi15 autonomous piloting promotes the integration of new functions in order to convert the passenger compartment into a convivial and comfortable space while maintaining a high level of security. This trend notably implies giving an important place to information and multimedia at the heart of vehicles. Some vehicles are thus equipped with screens which allow, in addition to guidance, the viewing of photos or videos without giving the vehicle occupants the possibility of isolating themselves from the outside environment. In the integrated solutions, a multimedia station can be installed at the front of the vehicle and control screens embedded in the dashboard, on the back of the headrest of each front seat or even in the ceiling. In mobile solutions, mobile multimedia devices such as laptops, smartphones, tablets and DVD players are installed and connected in the passenger compartment by the vehicle occupants.
The invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks by improving the steering and control of the interior lighting of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle by means of a device capable of modifying certain surfaces of the passenger compartment in order to project
-2 images and / or videos and create a soothing "cocoon" atmosphere by obscuring and modifying the view of the exterior from inside the cabin.
The device according to the invention ensures the reliability of the control and improves, by its ergonomics, the comfort of the occupants of the vehicle while guaranteeing their safety.
Statement of the invention
The subject of the invention is an interior lighting device for a motor vehicle comprising:
at least one light source capable of emitting at least one light beam; at least one projection support;
a control module arranged to configure the light source, the module being further arranged to configure the at least one projection support in a passive mode or in an active mode in which the light beam forms at least one image, dynamic and / or static, on said projection support and according to the manual or automatic driving mode of the motor vehicle.
The term motor vehicle is understood to mean here both vehicles with manual piloting and autonomous vehicles with automatic piloting or even semi-autonomous vehicles whose piloting can switch from a manual mode to an automatic mode. It is understood that depending on the driving mode of the vehicle and for safety reasons, the choice of projection supports may vary. Thus, in an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle in which the steering operates in automatic mode, each glazed surface of the vehicle and / or the windshield and / or one of the front and / or rear side windows and / or the glazed roof and / or the rear window can be used as a projection support. In this configuration, the light source is preferably located at the front of the passenger compartment, for example at the level of the front roof level with the dashboard and / or in the front central console.
The device of the invention makes it possible to control at least one light source, mounted fixed or mobile in the passenger compartment. By light source is meant at least one means for emitting light rays to form a light beam projected onto the projection support of the invention. Such a means can be a simple light source such as a light strip, a point source of light configured to emit a beam of slightly diverging light, such as a reading lamp for example, and in particular of the type
-3 a light emitting diode or a source and an associated projector device or a source and a reflector for deflecting the rays. In the case where the light source consists of one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs), the light intensity and / or the color of the diodes may vary depending on the desired atmosphere.
According to an advantageous and preferred characteristic of the invention, the light source is a device for projecting light and / or static or dynamic images and / or videos, preferably a video projector, and more preferably a pico-projector. According to one embodiment of the invention, the light source can be located at the level of the front and / or rear roof of the vehicle and / or in the central console. The latter can, among other functions, act as an armrest for the driver and front passenger and / or in at least one rear console, fixed or retractable, located between the rear seats and which can serve as an armrest. The objective of the invention being to modify the view on the outside of at least one occupant of the vehicle and to create, within the passenger compartment, pleasant light atmospheres, it is possible to project static images such as dynamic landscapes and / or images such as photo slideshows, videos or even “equalizer” type images linked to the music played in the passenger compartment.
According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the projection support is a surface, preferably smooth, free of information and structural elements, and arranged to receive at least one image, static or dynamic, projected by a light source. Said projection surface or support is advantageously a glazed surface of the vehicle such as a windshield and / or at least one front and / or rear side window and / or a glazed roof and / or a rear window. Said glass surface is arranged to switch reversibly and at the request of a passive OFF mode, preferably corresponding to a transparent state of the glass surface, to an active mode ON, preferably corresponding to an at least partially opaque state of said glass surface , defined for example by a transmission coefficient less than or equal to 25% in the visible spectrum. More preferably, the active mode ON corresponds to an opaque state of the glass surface. To achieve this transition from an OFF mode to an ON mode, the glass surface constituting the projection support preferably comprises an electrochromic structure.
-4Electrochromic technology allows, under the effect of an applied electric field, to vary the optical properties of said support, in particular its light transmission. By this technology the light transmission of the glass surface constituting the projection support according to the invention, decreases until it becomes an opaque surface, capable of receiving at least one dynamic and / or static projected image.
Electrochromic structures are composite structures comprising a plurality of functional layers. Said layers consist of at least one support or substrate, preferably at least one sheet of glass or transparent glazed surface and an electrochromic system which consists of two layers of electrodes which are places of electrochemical reactions, one of the electrodes having to be necessarily transparent, of a charge conducting element or electrolyte capable of allowing the passage of an electric current by displacement of ions, and of an organic and / or inorganic electrochromic material. The optical properties of the electrochromic structure thus formed can vary, in particular the light transmission, in response to the application of an electric field which generates a reversible redox reaction within the electrochromic material.
In order for the projection support in active ON mode to resemble a projection screen and guarantee sufficient image quality, an opaque state of light color, preferably still white, will be preferred.
Electrochromic technology combined with glass surfaces is widely used in the building and automotive industries. Liquid crystal shutter glazing, capable of passing from an opaque translucent state to a transparent state, finds an application in the building as glass partitions or in cars as interior walls. This change in state is reversible as a function of the electrical potential applied between the terminals of the electrochromic screen and according to a relatively short response time. Darkening electrochromic glazing finds application in the glass roofs of vehicles and provides solar protection. They are capable of reversibly varying in color under the effect of an electrical voltage from a transparent state to a dark colored state. Electrochromic rearview mirrors with an anti-dazzle function operate on a similar principle and have the ability to be able to darken quickly in the event of the driver dazzling caused by the headlights of other users driving behind him.
-5To give the projection support according to the invention electrochromic properties, several solutions are possible. The glass constituting the glass surface of the projection support has a composite structure. Preferably, a composite glass comprises an electrochromic system or may be covered with an electrochromic film, optionally adhesive, said adhesive film then transforming the existing glass surface into an intelligent glass surface, of the projection screen type.
Each glazed surface of the motor vehicle, the windshield and / or at least one front and / or rear side window and / or the glazed roof and / or the rear window is capable of serving as a projection support according to the invention. However, the choice of projection supports varies according to the embodiment of the invention, more particularly is a function of the type of manual or automatic piloting of the vehicle and possibly of the safety conditions.
In a classic or semi-autonomous vehicle where the steering operates in manual mode, the projection zones are reduced so as not to impede the driver's visibility on the road scene or to divert his attention from it. In this embodiment, the projection supports are limited to the glazed roof and to the rear side windows, preferably to the rear side window located immediately behind the driver. In this configuration, the light source is preferably located at the rear of the passenger compartment at the rear roof and / or in the armrest of the rear center console.
It is possible to configure the front and / or rear areas of the passenger compartment, and / or the projection supports and / or the light sources independently and independently. We could have, for example, a first image projected on a front side window and a second image, distinct from the first, projected on a rear side window of said passenger compartment. Note that any other combination of image projection, for example the first on a side window and the second on the glass roof, is possible.
The control module according to the invention is arranged, on the one hand, to activate and configure the light source and, on the other hand, to configure the projection support in a passive OFF mode or in an active ON mode, so that said projection support can receive at least one dynamic and / or static image formed by the light beam from at least one light source in the passenger compartment. The module
Control, connected to at least one light source and a projection support, comprises at least one processor and / or a memory and / or a means of data storage and / or a means of reading static image files and / or dynamic. The data storage means of the control module comprises a database of static and / or dynamic images prerecorded or transferred by the users using a removable multimedia device connected to the control module or by any means of communication. wired or wireless, such as for example via Bluetooth or WIFI.
By removable multimedia device is meant a memory card for storing SD digital data or an external device such as a USB key, smartphone, camera, laptop, tablet, DVD player. The control module, preferably located at the front of the vehicle, is capable of reading image files to be projected and of transmitting instructions for activating the light sources and projection supports. The control module may include at least one control button located at the rear of the passenger compartment, for example in at least one rear console, so that the rear passengers of the vehicle can operate the sources independently and independently. lights and projection supports. According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, it is possible to associate with the device of the invention, preferably the control module, at least one temperature and / or light intensity sensor, in order to detect conditions external to the vehicle. In response to the data collected by said sensors, the control module can select and project images capable of improving the atmosphere of the passenger compartment and the well-being of the occupants. As an example, we can predict the projection of images of sunny landscapes if the temperature and / or light intensity data detected by the sensor are below a certain threshold.
The invention also relates to a method of lighting at least part of an interior space of a motor vehicle by the lighting device according to the invention, which makes it possible to obscure and modify the view on the exterior from the interior of the passenger compartment in order to create a specific soothing atmosphere within the vehicle. Said lighting method comprises at least:
a step of activating the control module, said activation being able to be carried out manually by at least one occupant of the vehicle, or automatically when
The vehicle, autonomous or semi-autonomous, is in automatic piloting mode or again following the detection and the collection of specific temperature and / or light conditions external to said vehicle by at least one temperature and / or light intensity. The data collected by said sensors can be the subject of an analysis step by the control module, a step of selection and configuration of at least one electrochromic glazed surface constituting a vehicle projection support by attenuation. of the light transmission of said glazed surface, so that said glazed surface switches from a passive OFF mode, corresponding to a transparent state, to an active ON mode, corresponding to an opaque state, preferably white. The projection support thus configured can then be assimilated to a projection screen, preferably white, a step of configuring at least one light source from the passenger compartment to direct at least one light beam from said source onto the configured projection support. , a step of selecting and reading pre-recorded image files in the storage means of the control module or transferred by at least one occupant of the vehicle using a removable multimedia device previously connected to said control module.
Description of the figures
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the detailed description of an embodiment of the invention, given below by way of illustrative and nonlimiting example and based on the appended figures, in which the interior lighting device according to the invention is illustrated integrated in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle.
- Figures la and lb are side and perspective views of the passenger compartment, in which are integrated, at the front of the vehicle, light sources capable of projecting at least one image on projection supports which have been respectively configured in inactive OFF mode and in active ON mode by the control module.
- Figures 2a and 2b are side and perspective views of the passenger compartment, in which are integrated, at the rear of the vehicle, light sources capable of projecting at least one
-8image on projection supports which have been respectively configured in inactive OFF mode and in active ON mode by the control module.
Detailed description of the invention
It should be noted that if the figures show the invention in detail for its implementation, they can also be used to better define the invention if necessary. It will also be understood that the embodiment of the invention illustrated by the figures is given by way of non-limiting example. Consequently, other configurations of the device according to the invention can be achieved, in particular by variations in the arrangement, distribution and dimensioning of the light sources, the projection supports and the control module constituting the lighting device. according to the invention.
Figures la and lb illustrate the arrangement and operation of the interior lighting device 1 according to the invention in the front area of the passenger compartment. FIG. 1 a illustrates the interior lighting device 1 when it is in passive OFF mode while FIG. 1 b illustrates the interior lighting device 1 after switching to active mode ON. In this embodiment, the interior lighting device 1 of the invention comprises two light sources 2, projection supports 3, and a control module. A first light source 2 is located at the level of the front roof, plumb with the dashboard and a second in the central console 6.
Said light sources 2 target the projection supports 3, the representations of which are here, for reasons of clarity, limited to the front side glazed surface on the driver's side and to the glazed roof. The control module, integrated here in the dashboard 5, includes an additional control button 4 located in the center console 6, so that the driver and / or the front passenger can activate the lighting device 1 while leaving their forearms in the rest position on the armrest.
The light sources 2 are preferably pico-projectors making it possible to project static and / or dynamic images on the projection supports 3 when these have switched from a passive OFF mode (FIG. 1a) to an active ON mode. (Figure lb). This switching from a passive transparent state to an active opaque state is made possible after activation of the electrochromic glass surfaces constituting the projection supports 3 by application of an electric voltage by the control module. The
-9 opaque surface of the projection support is therefore similar to a white projection screen and guarantees the quality of the projected image. The projected images isolate the occupants of the vehicle from the outside environment and promote the creation of a soothing atmosphere within the passenger compartment. Separate images can be projected independently and independently on each of the activated projection media. For obvious safety reasons, the projection supports 3 located at the front of the passenger compartment, in particular the front side windows and / or the windshield, are only activated when the vehicle is in automatic control.
Figures 2a and 2b illustrate the arrangement and operation of the interior lighting device 1 according to the invention in the rear area of the passenger compartment. FIG. 2a illustrates the interior lighting device 1 when the latter is in passive OFF mode while FIG. 1b illustrates the interior lighting device 1 after switching to active mode ON. In this embodiment, the interior lighting device 1 of the invention comprises at least two light sources 2, projection supports 3, a control module. A first light source 2 is located at the rear roof and at least one second in at least one rear console 7 depending on the number of passenger seats. Said light sources target the projection supports 3, the representations of which are here, for reasons of clarity, limited to the rear side glazed surface on the driver's side and to the glazed roof. The control module is activated by means of at least one control button 4 installed in at least one rear console 7, so that each rear passenger can activate the lighting device 1 independently and independently.
As previously described, the light sources 2 are preferably picoprojectors making it possible to project static and / or dynamic images on the projection supports 3 when these have switched from a passive OFF mode (FIG. 2a) to a mode active ON (Figure 2b). This switching from a passive transparent state to an active opaque state is made possible after activation of the electrochromic glass surfaces constituting the projection supports 3 by application of an electric voltage by the control module. The opacified surface of the projection support therefore looks like a white projection screen and guarantees the quality of the projected image. The projected images isolate the occupants of the vehicle from the outside environment and promote the creation of a soothing atmosphere within the passenger compartment. It is possible to independently and independently project separate images on each of the media.
-10 projection activated. This second embodiment is applicable regardless of the automatic or manual piloting mode of the vehicle and potentially on any glazed surface located at the rear of the passenger compartment. In manual piloting, it is however recommended, for safety reasons, to limit the projection of images on the lateral glazed surface located immediately behind the driver and / or on the glazed roof.
Whatever the embodiment of the invention, it is understood that the interior lighting device 1 can generate the projection of static and / or dynamic images on the electrochromic glass surfaces of the vehicle, said surfaces constituting projection supports after have been clouded by configuration in active ON mode. It is also understood that the interior lighting device 1 can generate various light atmospheres within the passenger compartment, in response to activations of said device by the driver and / or the front and / or rear passengers of the vehicle. It is understood that any front passenger, in particular the driver, is able to activate all the light sources 2 and the projection supports 3 from the control module located in the dashboard and / or in the central console and at order the projection of identical and / or separate static and / or dynamic images on each of said projection supports. Similarly, rear passengers can activate the light sources and rear projection supports of their choice using the control buttons located in at least one rear console 7 and this independently and independently of the actions generated by the occupants front of the vehicle.
Numerous and various combinations of light atmospheres can be created within the passenger compartment, by projection of static images, for example landscapes, and / or dynamic, for example a slideshow of photos and / or a video or even “equalizer” type images linked to the music played in the passenger compartment.
The control module, configured to configure the projection supports and the light sources, also comprises storage means and / or means for reading image files, said images being able to be prerecorded or transferred by the users using at least one removable multimedia device connected for this purpose to the control module. By removable multimedia devices is meant a memory card for storing SD digital data or a USB key, smartphone, camera, laptop, tablet, DVD player ...
In addition, it is possible to associate temperature and / or light intensity sensors with the control module, capable of detecting conditions outside the vehicle. In response to the data collected by said sensors, the control module can select and project images capable of improving the atmosphere of the passenger compartment. As an illustrative example, provision may be made to project an image representing a range when the temperature sensor detects a low outside temperature and / or a sunny landscape image when the light intensity sensor detects an external darkening linked to the time of day, season or even when crossing a tunnel.
According to the main and preferred embodiment of the invention, the method of lighting at least part of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle by which the view of the exterior from the interior of the passenger compartment is obscured and modified to create a specific soothing atmosphere within the vehicle includes at least:
A step for activating the control module, said activation being able to be carried out manually by at least one occupant of the vehicle, or automatically when the vehicle goes into automatic piloting mode or even after detection, by temperature sensors and / or of light intensity, of specific temperature and / or brightness conditions external to said vehicle, • a step of selecting and configuring at least one electrochromic glazed surface of the vehicle or projection support 3 so as to vary the light transmission of said glazed surface, preferably attenuating it so that the glazed surface switches from a passive OFF mode, corresponding to a transparent state, to an active ON mode, corresponding to an opaque state. The projection support 3 thus configured is similar to a projection screen, preferably white, • a step of configuring at least one light source 2 to direct at least one light beam from said source to the projection support 3 configured , • a step of selecting and reading pre-recorded image files in the storage means of the control module or transferred by at least one occupant of the vehicle using a removable multimedia device previously connected to said control module.
-12The above description clearly explains how the invention achieves the objectives it has set by providing an ergonomic interior lighting device with simple and reliable control, capable of improving the well-being of vehicle occupants .
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment given by way of nonlimiting examples.
